To find a star for our music video we need to conduct a screen test. Here is a video of our class's group audition
- Time effciency, having 21 people in the class would waste a lot of time , therefore by having everybody singing simulataneously would save time.
- Done together as a class to boost up confidence and reduce akwardness when singing, makes it more enjoyable to sing and fun to do.
- Quick and easy to edit
Disadvantages of doing this screen test
- Not everybody knows the lyrics to the song, thus this may not reveal true potential for other people
- Singing for each person is brief hence we cant really know if they can actually sing the whole song when we choose them as our star.
- People may still be camera shy when singing therefore we can't really see them sing when they are fully confident
This screen test was one of the easiest thing to do in class because it only took a day and my teacher did most of the video editing for the test. Therefore I find it very time efficient for us students as we can focus on other big things such as the storyboard. However what I find lacking with this test is that it was very short, since the use of the screen test is to determine the star of your music video, the video shows only brief moments of people singing. This will make it hard for us to find the right star for the music video as we can't see them sing a full song. Hence what we probably will do is find someone who's close to us in order for them to be more confident when singing or doing a performance.
